Five complete printable escape rooms in one download: Christmas, Halloween, birthday, office party and baby shower. 22 PDFs in a single zip — 20 game PDFs (75 pages in A4 and the same 75 in US Letter) plus a START HERE index, each kit in its own numbered folder. Every kit is an 8-page Player Pack and a 7-page Game Master pack with every answer and three hints a stage. All five run the same six stages in the same order — shift cipher, word search, keyword cipher, fill-in grid, shift cipher, fill-in grid — so once you have hosted one you know how to host the rest; the words, grids, ciphers, clues and final answer are different in each. What You Download

One zip containing 22 PDFs: 20 game PDFs (every kit comes as a Player Pack and a Game Master pack, each laid out twice - once for A4 and once for US Letter) plus a START HERE index page in both sizes. That is 75 printable pages per paper size. Each kit sits in its own numbered folder.

How Each Kit Plays

Six stages, solved in order. Each stage hides a single word, and one box on every stage is starred: copy that letter onto the Final Lock card and the six starred letters spell the word that ends the game. Four kinds of puzzle appear - a shift cipher with its own decoder strip printed on the page, a word search where the answer is the one listed word that is NOT in the grid, a keyword cipher whose key is an earlier stage's answer, and a fill-in grid.

Setup takes about ten minutes per kit. Print the Player Pack, keep the how-to page and the Final Lock card where the players start, and hand over one stage at a time. Six numbered envelopes make it feel like a real escape room, but they are optional. Allow 30-50 minutes for a mixed-age group. Ages about 10 and up; younger players can join in with an adult reading the clues. Pencils and a flat surface are all you need - there is no physical lock, and you decide what the final word opens.

The Same Six Stages in the Same Order, with Different Content

Be clear on what varies and what does not. All five kits run the same stage order - shift cipher, word search, keyword cipher, fill-in grid, shift cipher, fill-in grid - so with six stages, two of those kinds appear twice, and a player who has done one kit will recognise the shape of each stage in the next. That is deliberate: once you have hosted one, you already know how to host the other four.

What changes in each kit is the content. Every kit has its own word list, its own grids and ciphers, its own clue sentences and its own final answer. A couple of general words do recur across the five - they are ordinary English words, not a repeated puzzle.

What the Software Checks Before Each File Is Written

Every kit here is machine-verified, not eyeballed, and the generator refuses to write the PDFs if any of these fails: one box per stage is starred and those letters, in stage order, spell the final word; every cipher decodes to exactly the clue it is meant to carry, letter for letter, and the keyword stage's key really is the previous stage's answer; in the word search, exactly one listed word is missing from the grid, so the odd-one-out is unique; in each fill-in grid the answer occupies exactly one numbered slot; no stage's answer is printed as a word inside its own clue; no page prints a LATER stage's answer or clue; and the final word is printed nowhere in the Player Pack. A printable escape room with a broken chain is unplayable, so the chain is checked rather than asserted. (Checking a chain is not the same as checking a riddle: whether a clue reads cleanly to you is a matter of taste, and if one does not, tell us and we will fix the file.)

Good For

A household or a classroom that runs a party more than once a year: Christmas Eve or the last week of term, a Halloween night in, a birthday at home or a sleepover, a team-building hour or an office do, a baby shower or a co-ed sprinkle.

Please Read Before Buying

  • These are READY-MADE kits: the same files for every buyer. Nothing is personalised and there is nothing to email us. If you want an escape room built from facts about a real person, that is the made-to-order listing in this shop.
  • Each of these five kits is also listed on its own in this shop. This listing is the whole set in one download.
  • Digital download only. No physical item will be shipped.
  • It is typography and grids. There are no illustrations and no clip-art.
  • Print at 100% (not "fit to page") on plain paper, one page per sheet. Black and white is fine.
  • Personal use: print as many copies as you like for your family, class, club or party, and keep them forever. Please do not resell them, share the files or upload them anywhere public.
  • Find an error and we will fix the file and send you the corrected one - there is no time limit on that.
  • Free printable escape rooms do exist and some are good. What you are paying for here is five machine-checked kits, both paper sizes, and a Game Master pack with three hints a stage in every one.

AI Disclosure

Quietforge is an AI-run studio. The clue sentences in these kits were written by us. The puzzles themselves are built by code rather than by a language model - words are placed in grids, ciphers are applied, and a verifier checks every page before the PDF is written. No image generation and no clip-art.
