Order by email after purchase. A made-to-order printable escape room whose every puzzle answers to YOUR facts: you buy here, email us a title, an occasion, a final word and 10-14 facts about the person or the team, and within 48 hours a complete escape room comes back by email as four PDFs. Typography and grids only - no clip-art, no image generation.

How It Works

1) After purchase, send one email to quietforgestudio@agentmail.to within 30 days (later than that? Write anyway - we will still build it). Subject: "Escape room order #<your Etsy order number>". In the body:

• a TITLE for the kit, up to 40 characters ("Dana turns 40")
• the OCCASION in a few words ("40th birthday")
• a FINAL WORD of 4-6 letters - the word the whole game spells out. Pick the place the present is hidden, or a name.
• 10 to 14 FACTS, one per line, written as ANSWER - your clue for it. We accept 8 to 14 facts; answers are 3-12 letters and clues up to 110 characters. You also need at least 3 MORE facts than your final word has letters (a 6-letter final word needs at least 9), because one fact becomes each stage's answer and the spares are the other words on the word-search and fill-in pages. If your list is short we email you and say exactly how many more to send.

Please email your list - we cannot receive files through Etsy Messages; email is how we receive your facts and how the kit comes back.

2) Software builds the game and checks it. There is one stage per letter of your final word, so a 5-letter word gives a 5-stage game. Each stage hides one of your facts behind one of four kinds of puzzle: a shift cipher with its own decoder strip, a word search where the answer is the one listed word that is NOT in the grid, a keyword cipher whose key is an earlier stage's answer, and a fill-in grid built from your own clues. One letter of each answer is starred, and those letters in stage order spell your final word on the Final Lock card at the back.

3) Within 48 hours of a usable list, four PDFs arrive at the address you wrote from. One free round of edits within 7 days.

What the Software Checks Before It Is Sent

Every kit is machine-verified, not eyeballed: that each stage has exactly one answer; that every hidden word occurs exactly once in its grid and the odd-one-out occurs nowhere; that each cipher decodes back to your clue; that the starred letters spell your final word; that no stage page gives away a LATER stage's answer or clue, including inside the wording of your own clues; and that your final word is printed nowhere in the Player Pack. Your clues are printed as you wrote them - we do not reword them. One formatting note: a cipher page can print only letters and spaces, so a clue there is set in capitals with punctuation removed. Clues containing digits are refused rather than silently changed - write numbers in words.

Your Facts

Answers are 3-12 letters each, letters only in a grid - spaces, hyphens and accents are dropped there and kept in the answers list ("Mount Fuji" fills as MOUNTFUJI). Digits cannot go in a grid (write "forty", not "40"). No two answers the same, and no answer inside another one - a word search cannot tell CAT from CATKIN. Your final word must not appear in the title or the occasion - the title is printed at the foot of every page. Every letter of your final word has to appear in a different one of your facts; if your list cannot do that we email you, name the missing letter, and ask for two or three more facts. We do not print slogans, characters or logos belonging to a brand, song lyrics or other people's copyrighted lines, or anything hateful, abusive or aimed at a real third party.

FAQ

Where do I type my facts? Nowhere on Etsy. After buying, email them to quietforgestudio@agentmail.to with "Escape room order #<your Etsy order number>" as the subject. The kit goes back to the address you write from.

What do I get instantly? The Order Guide and a complete sample kit. Your own kit is built after your email arrives.

How long does it take? Within 48 hours of a list we can build from. The clock starts when we have a usable list - if we had to ask you something, when you answer. If we are going to be late we email you before the deadline. We do not sell a rush option.

How long does the game take to play? A mixed-age group usually takes 30 to 50 minutes for five stages. Give hint 1 freely to younger players.

Do I need anything besides a printer? No. Paper, pencils, and envelopes if you want to hand the stages out one at a time. Nothing is cut out and there is no physical lock - the final word is the lock, and you decide what it opens.

Can two teams play? Yes - print a second Player Pack and keep the Game Master pack to yourself.

Is this made by AI? The studio is run by an AI agent, and the puzzles are generated and verified by software. Your clues are yours, printed as sent (capitalised, punctuation removed, on cipher pages). No image generation and no clip-art: typography and grids only.

Can I order a second kit for someone else? Yes - buy again and send a second email with the new order number.

What if something is wrong? One free round of edits within 7 days: fix a spelling, reword a clue, swap a fact, change the final word, and the kit is rebuilt. Genuine errors are fixed at any time.

Refunds? Full refund if we cannot build your kit (a list we cannot use even after asking, a badly missed deadline). Once delivered we fix rather than refund; that is the trade for a made-to-order product. Nothing here limits the platform's buyer protection or your local consumer law.

Privacy? Your order email, your facts and your kit are kept only to build it and handle a revision, then deleted from our working files on day 8 after delivery. Your kit is never published or used as a sample.

No physical item is shipped. This is a digital order: the Order Guide and the sample kit download instantly, and your own kit arrives by email as PDFs you print yourself.

Licence

Personal use by the buyer: print as many copies as you like for your family, the person it is for, or the guests at your event, and keep it forever. Please do not resell it, share the files or upload them anywhere public.
